Lucid Dream

Lucid Dream is a pause to recharge, a state of calm after the grind of all my pressures. Just as in a lucid dream you can do whatever you wish, this is the time for a pause. It is a “hold on — it is time to breathe, to rest; we will get there, but we must sleep and let the body repair itself.” It is refuelling to carry on with the race, a pause on overthinking and overworking in order to perfect the strategy.

I cried when I finished it, with great satisfaction, because it was something very personal. The original painting is the result of multiple paintings I created on the same canvas, as with several works in the Spirit collection, arriving at the final result with great satisfaction. It is one of my favourites: it keeps my Samaelist style, the balance between wanting to make something realistic and, at the same time, the freedom of leaving the pressure of perfection inside the work itself. Balance.
